Karnail Rana, the saga of Pahari songs, born on April 30, 1963 in Ghallaur, Himachal. Karnail Rana has made a mark in folk singing. He completed his schooling from Government High School, Ghallaur and then graduated from Government College, Dharamshala in music.
His father had served for Indian Army and mother was a housewife. Karnail Rana was into music since his childhood as his father also had a keen interest in music.
Karnail Rana had participated in many programes at all level, including Nehru Yuva Kendra and Inter State Folk Exchange Programe. Karnail Rana has gained many winning appreciation and awards for his unbeatable talent.
Karnail Rana is an icon in pahari folk singing and an inspiration to all.
Karnail Rana released his first cassette “Chambe Patne Do Bediyan” in 1994. It was a big hit and since then he has released more than 150 albums in association with T Series. Holder of many awards from organisation of Himachal and other states like Punjab and Maharashtra. After serving in Nehru Yuva Kendra in 1987, Karnail Rana has been serving in Public Relations Department since 1988.
For his remarkable contribution in the field of pahari folk singing, he has been awarded by Himachal Excellence Award 2014.
